Actually, it's nothing like the fucking tuck rule.

    But keep showing your ignorance.

Yeah, but you shouldn't be able to benefit by knocking your own net off the pegs to get a stop. Although certainly others have done as much and worse.

At this point, the only teams that would surprise me as winners might be Latvia, Austria, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland or Slovakia. You look at the results and you don't see nearly as many blowouts as in past Olympics, even involving the weaker teams.

When we get to the elimination round, it's going to be Russian roulette (pardon the pun). Anyone remember Belarus upsetting Sweden in 2002? And that was a Sweden team that had beaten eventual gold-medalist Canada in an earlier game.

Right now, Sweden is 3-0-0 with a plus-5 goal differential as the winner of Group C. So that means the winner of Sunday's Finland-Canada game will win Group B and be the top seed based on better goal differential (Canada is currently plus-8 and Finland is plus-9). Sweden will be the No. 2 seed and possibly the US the third seed (one fewer point based on shootout win) if it beats Slovenia to win Group A. The 4 seed should be Russia if Russia can beat Slovakia in regulation and get to 7 points. (Assuming Canada-Finland doesn't go OT.)

But, hey, Canada had to play the extra game in 2010 and still won gold. So who knows?

The Swiss beat the Czechs 1-0. They work so hard all over the ice that if they had any offence at all they would be a medal contender. As it is they are an extremely tough out.

Panic mode on one side, while the American Twitterverse is already designing T.J. Oshie commemorative coins and stamps. Fascinating.

For sure. All three of their games have ended 1-0.

I think most of that Twitterverse is being fueled by non-hockey fans who have fond memories of 1980 (and certain Disney movies with Kurt Russell) and don't realize there is still a lot of hockey to be played. Most of the "Oshie! OMG!" posts on my facebook timeline this morning were from people who I know don't watch hockey all that much, if at all.

You hawkey snobs are so cute when you're annoyed by other people's quadrennial enjoyment of your sport.

    No shit.

They spend 90% of the time lamenting the fact that more people don't love the sport. Then, when folks get excited, they resent it.

Go troll another thread, show me one fan who spends 90% of their time caring what you or others think.
