I actually don't give a flying fuck who else loves it.

As for "resent," I don't resent that people paid attention to hockey today. I only want them to be aware that today's game was pretty meaningless. The U.S. also beat Canada in the preliminary round four years ago; how'd that one work out, again?

More importantly, if Canada beats the Finns today in regulation, we're higher seeded than either the US or Russia.

Some entertaining TV this morning; even my wife got into it. Also watched the late game between Sweden and Latvia, and from my perspective, the Swedes looked shaky. If Latvia had curbed its tendency to take silly penalties, it might have been closer than 5-3.

I do wonder if the larger ice favors teams like Sweden and the smaller rinks favor teams like Canada, that seem to be more physical.

So if the US and Russia both win on Sunday, it looks like they will be on different sides of the bracket in the elimination round. We might get a Canada-Russia quarterfinal for the third straight Olympics. Looks like Canada, Finland (1 and 5), Russia (4) on side of the bracket. Sweden (2), United States (3) and Switzerland (6) on the other, if form holds in Sunday's games.

Will be interested to see if the US stays with Jonathan Quick in goal against Slovenia or goes with Ryan Miller after Quick played a really long game on Saturday.

Miller in for USA, Quick day off. Price for Canada. Rask for Finland. Varlamov for Russia.

Thanks. The compressed schedule makes having two good goalies very significant. Lundqvist did play all three games for Sweden.

US will be the 2 or 3 seed based on the Finland-Canada game. A regulation win for either bumps the US to third, otherwise US will be second based on goal difference.

No matter what, US will be opposite of Sweden, Russia and either Finland or Canada.

If US is the 2 seed, they would get winner of the Czech Republic and Slovakia. As a 3, they would play the winner of Switzerland and Latvia.

I don't follow hockey like I used to, but the US has looked as good as any team in the field so far.

Last three gold medal winners each lost a game during the prelim round. Single-elimination is such a crap shoot.

Canada and Finland tied up 1-1 after two and are now playing for #1 seed.

Fast game, Canada spent most of the 2nd in the Finn's zone but few chances.

Matt Duchene, Corey Perry and Getzlaf are playing great together

This is the best example of why you never take goal scoring for granted. Canada once again over thinking things. Kunitz over StLouis and Giroux is criminal.

    Also, sitting Subban is ridiculous.

Also a perfect example why large ice sucks the life out of a game .

    Game now going to OT.
