Well, you knew it was coming. Doughty has been the most dangerous player on the ice in the third.

Shots are 57-14. Almost as bad as U.S.-Sweden -- women.

They might have to carry that kid off the ice like Kellen Winslow.

That Putin photo was from earlier in the Olympics, during a game the Russkies won.

I didn't know until late in the game when one of the broadcasters mentioned it that the Latvia goalie, Kristers Gudlevskis, was a Tampa Bay Lightning draft choice. Gave a nice little show to his boss, Stevie Y, today.

Hey, we're trying to tell a story.

The picture works. So what if it's not from today?

If the Russian and Slovak teams had shown the heart Team Latvia did today, perhaps they would have given a better representation of themselves. The big question mark pertaining to Team Russia going into this tournament was its defensemen. Nikita Nikitin is probably still trying to arrange his undergarments back in place, but that save still needs to be made.

Canada-Latvia is my favorite match so far. The better team won by just continuing to pound away. But the guts shown by the Latvians was very admirable. At one point in the third period, Latvia had 14 blocked shots to Team Canada's two.

Most of us had never heard of Gudlevskis prior to today. We'll see him again-in the NHL.

It would be damn near impossible for Team Canada to have more blocked shots considering they had the puck for most of the game.
