Yes, and Stevie looked a little worried there for a while, eh?

One of the NBC guys (Keith Jones, I think) pretty much said this today. And I hope you're right about the egos.

One of the things I respect about basketball's Coach K is he got his pros to check their egos for the benefit of their team, the main examples being Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony.

Offended? I was just stating why they wouldn't have more blocked shots.

Point taken. I guess I should have just stated Team Latvia had 14. No worries.

Siberia Gulag 15 is going to have a great team in 2015.

JC, I was thinking of your take later and another thought came to me. IIRC, Latvia had three power plays. I'm not sure but it seemed (to me) Canada controlled the puck more on its penalty kill than the Latvians did with the man advantage.

Turns out, those PKs were a big part of the game, IMHO.

The KHL guys will probably get the most grief. The NHLers can just come back and resume their normal existence.

Then again, we may see more of the NHLers staying in North America longer ... after being granted asylum ;D

Even though I don't know shiat about hockey, I am willing to place a wager with JR: Loser of the semi-final can't post for a month.

    USA! USA!

When I heard before the tournament that Nedved had been given a roster spot by the Czechs, it reminded me of a scene early in "Ed Wood." Johnny Depp gets home and tells Sarah Jessica Parker he's met a famous horror film star.
    Parker: "Boris Karloff?"
    Depp: "No."
    Parker: "Basil Rathbone!!!"
    Depp: "Bela Legosi."
Parker: "Oh, I thought he was dead."

Any early word out yet on Tavares' injury. I don't remember him returning today.
