Are the hockey gods shining on the Canuckistanis after that attempt for an empty-net goal - that hit the fucking linesman to elude the Canuck at the point - hit the post?

No, it's just that a two-goal lead is the worst lead in hockey.

Sorry, that was always a running gag at my last newspaper stop.

Overtime is sudden death, first goal wins. Maximum 20 minutes. If neither team scores, game goes to a shootout.

    Three points to ponder:
Can the U.S. women just not handle pressure?

So where do the gals go after the Olympics? Is there a WNHL no one knows about?

Is it just me or is it rather surreal seeing the Russians' epic fail on their home ice? No way would the Soviets had allowed that. Fix or otherwise.

I worked in junior hockey for 10+ years, I swear there is something to that.

So far, OT looks like a U.S. power play.

Is it just me or is Hilary Knight easily the fastest player in the ice?

and yet how many times do we see one team control the puck for most of OT and get nothing out of it and then the other team sneaks in a goal

Where was the U.S. penalty? What a ridiculous call.
