Might be the last international game for several of the Finns: Teemu Selanne, Kimmo Timonen, Olli Jokinen, Sami Salo. Might play in the World Championships this May.

Got a lot of mileage from their older guys.

I think it's safe to say that Selanne "won" a bronze medal.

The Fins worked hard, and had a great tournament. A part of me would have liked to see an underdog team like them win the Gold.

Well, speaking of what you don't want for referees for the gold medal final, three are Canadians, one is American who lives in Calgary. Ooops. Foppa is pissed. IOC or IIHF, whoever is in charge of the officials, set themselves up for some controversy if there is a controversial call late that costs the Swedes.

This is ridiculous. It happens every World Cup in soccer too -- the games get absolutely butchered by some (probably corrupt) jackass from Mali or Senegal because FIFA demands diversity and the refs are not up to the task, when everyone knows the game would be a lot better off if they just took the best officials from the top European leagues.

With the speed of the players, the only officials who are physically equipped and talented enough to handle the action are the NHL guys.

    Fuck you.

Senegal has plenty of quality hockey ;D

Biggest question in Sochi tonight: Where's the Vodka shitface party for the U.S. and Russia hockey teams tonight? My God, the Americans have to wait overnight before flying home. We know what happened with that before #naganoriot

If Rask hadn't been hungover yesterday and able to play, they'd probably be in the gold medal game.

See, you could solve the officiating issue with a couple of Americans, a Finn and a Russian. Not that hard. Beef has a valid point. I don't think any of the refs are biased, but if there's a controversial call that happens to go Canada's way, well......

If this were a best-of-7 series, I'd pick Canada. But in a one-game format, I'll go with the better goaltender and take Sweden to win 2-1.

NHL officials are the best in the world. That's why they're handling the Gold Medal game.

And Lundqvist is not a better goalie than Price.

But you're missing the point. Canada's defense is far superior to Sweden's and those nine guys will dictate the game. Oh, and along with guys like Sid, Toews, et al
