Melanie Smith Taylor sucks as a commentator. I stayed with the live streaming instead of switching over to tv coverage and listening to her for eventing (had the BBC commentator) and dressage (no commentator at all).

I think she means that for every fence down it hurts the chances of a team medal as it's another 4 penalty points as opposed to it hurting the horse.

Sinclair does it again. 1-0 Canada.

Sinclair and Tancredi are a two-person team if ever there was one. But Erin McLeod is a good goalie, so maybe Canada has a chance to pull the upset against the US in the women's soccer semifinal.

I await Solo to tweet at Chastain after that.

It seems like the current U.S. women's team is vastly overrated or just overhyped. There are people with better insight on this, and I would love to hear their opinions either backing this up or giving a different take.

Any thoughts on McKayla Maroney? I think she may have the most long-term marketing potential of any athlete coming out of these games. There's something unique, almost strange about her.

She's 16 or 17, and like most of those gymnasts, she has the voice of a 9 year old.

Getting a silver in your only event isn't a marketer's dream.

USA is playing awful. Too rushed in attack. Relying too much on long ball-header payoff (it may still come). Would like to see Amy Rodriguez come on early in the second half. She's a creative player who can help in midfield.

Canada has been playing well throughout the tournament. They seem a lot stronger and faster than I remember. Would not be surprised if they get another goal off a break and put it away.

I know she's not a marketer's dream. She's not going to come out of the games with much of a marketing portfolio. I just have a hunch that she's going to have some legs on her. Just a hunch on my part.

Someone mentioned this way earlier but Wambach is a hack, swings those elbows very freely.

I really want the soccer team to lose.

Every time they fucking play it bogs down NBC's on-line system and you can't watch anything.
