The way Solo yelled at the player on the post on the third goal affirms that she must be just hated by her teammates.

Either Argentina has forgotten to come out of the locker room altogether or the US finally remembered to play some sort of defense in the basketball game.

I follow a few of the players on Twitter and they have no problem with retweeting and doing @ mentions for each other. Hope Solo is almost never mentioned though.

The US is piling up the points and daring the other team to keep up. If it wasn't for the lack of pressing, you'd think Starman was coaching.

Also, that technical on Westbrook was just silly.

Apparently hurting an opponent's feelings is against the rules in international hoops.

Also, nice nut shot on Anthony by Argentina's punk-ass bitch point guard to end the third quarter.

I've noticed that, too. I guess maybe it's not that she comes across as an ass, it's that she really is one.

I guess I'm from the hockey school that doesn't care if the goalie is the most popular person on the team as long as they're the best person available for the job. And while Solo might not have been spectacular today, I don't see many viable options other than her at this point.

    UPDATE

NBC Sports is only re-airing extra time from the game and they skipped the first five minutes of the first extra period.

I'll take the Americans. Give you a hundred to one.

I posted a few weeks ago that Hope Solo came across as an asshole on Twitter -- and that was before the Brandi Chastain incident. My view of her hasn't exactly improved. I suspect it's not a coincidence that she decided to become the Outspoken Wild Girl TM just as her book is coming out.

Count me among those who has never seen the 6 second rule actually called, and am sort of flabbergasted that it was here. Not a lot of sympathy for Canada, though - there were three takedowns in the penalty area in a span of probably 5 minutes that could easily have turned into penalty kicks, so they were overdue.

And I can't particularly fault anything from today, but I agree with the poster who questioned some of Pia Sundhage's moves. Through the World Cup she kept two or her three best players (Morgan and Rapinoe) on the bench through much of the tournament, which was mind-boggling to me.

Anyway, great game today. Looking forward to the Japan match.
