FIFA are now investigating comments made by Canadian Soccer players post-game about the referee. Suspensions for bronze medal a possibility.

That would be very much in keeping with the bullshit authoritarianism of the Games. First rule about Fight Club and all.

A weightlifter from Germany just dropped a bar with 430+ pounds of weight on his head. Guy got up and walked off the platform and it looks like he'll take his third lift.

Yeah, just came on to edit that in. They were looking at his neck back in the warm-up room.

Lolo Jones with a 12.71 in her semifinal heat. Did not finish in the top two in her heat so she has to wait and see if she has one of the next two fastest times to advance to the final. She has the fastest non-AQ time with one heat to go.

Don't they just let the prettiest people go to the final? I thought you didn't have to qualify if you're cute.

Jones gets in as the second non-aq qualifier.

Best name I've seen today: Adam Kszczot, 800 meter runner from Poland.

The BBC guy pronounced it Ka-zhot.

The Errol Spence fight will be on during the 5-8 block on CNBC, right? The one thing I want to watch and it comes at the one time I'm gone from the house today on assignment. I've set the DVR for it ...

Two Americans through to the final of the 800 meters (Solomon and Symmonds). Both got through on time.

Symmonds didn't run a great race in the second/fast heat. Spent a lot of time in Lane 2 and tried to rely on his kick at the end, like he usually does. Solomon took it out in the lead, but faded to third place.
