That game was a fistfight the entire way, and it was exciting as hell to watch.

You don't whine about the refs when you play like Canada did -- or like the US did.

Yes, your American ladies are just so damn clean. What did you think of Wambach studs up play in extra time?

The ref was completely out of her league. She was terrible from star to finish, both ways.

Get your Benjamins out! It's protest time!

He asked for a pen, so it appears the International Gymnastics Cabal takes checks?

That should have been a yellow card. It was late and dangerous play, which looked to be done out of exhaustion. But not a red card foul.

I have no idea why people still watch Olympic Boxing.

I am buying that Jamaica is now the center of the universe for sprinters just like we should all buy that 70 home runs were normal.

    That was hilarious

"Belarus. Not so good on the water it seems. Questionable human rights record as well for that country."

I realize I'm a little late to this discussion, but what seems to be getting lost in the soccer controversy is the fact that Canada had approximately 45-50 minutes of playing time after the PK to either score another goal or keep the U.S. from putting one in. They failed.

Canada played for the shootout in OT, while the U.S. pushed for the win, then they let arguably the Americans' most dangerous scorer to set up right in front of the net with only one defender, where she was in good position to get her head on a crossing pass. That's inexcusable and that's on them, not the ref.

Yeah, the delay was a ticky call that probably shouldn't have been called, but the handball was legit, IMO, and from there you suck it up, forget about it and play the game. Canada has no excuses for the way they played OT, and they lost on merit.

Tancredi had seven or eight fouls, and the uncalled red cardable offense of her stomping on a prone opponent's head. Stay classy, No. 14. Stay classy.

Giving the USA an indirect there that late in the game would be considered bush league on a Saturday morning during a U12 rec league match, not to mention the freaking Olympics.

The handling was a little more iffy, but it should have never gotten to that point.

If you want to yellow the keeper, do that, but don't give a scoring chance over that bullshit.

What's also lost in all this is the fact Canada was leaking some serious oil the last 5-6 minutes of overtime. They were totally gassed.

I guess gooning it up takes a lot more out of you.
