Did not know it was a Norweigan ref in over their head in that game as well!

I rememebr getting together with a bunch of friends to watch that game because Mike Keane had been a school mate (before dropping out to go play Junior in Moose Jaw).

As far as the soccer match goes both teams were rough and as I said earlier, I think the US had better scoring chances (even if the Canadians had prettier goals). Still a scewjob by an incompetent ref, maybe she can have a second career as a Boxing judge.

So the guy who was DQed and kicked out of the Olympics for not putting in an effort in an earlier race, but then was reinstated because he was injured, crushed the field in the 1500?

Apparently so. I wonder what sort of injury he blamed for the 800.

I believe his "giveadamn" was strained.

    Hah, probably true.

And as I'm on the mountain time feed, I'm just now getting to the hilarious gymnastics charade portion of the evening with the balance beam mess.

Make sure you stick around for the weightlifter from Germany dropping the bar on his neck.

That was strange. Why didn't he just DNS in the 800?

She was inspired by another Canadian hero, Ogie Ogilthorpe.

There were lots of issues in lots of places in that game. From both teams and the officials.

High bar looks like it would be so much fun, and I would injure myself in so many ways trying to do it.
