Norway leads South Korea early in thewomen's handball semifinals, a rematch of the epic semifinal in Beijing, won by the Norwegians at the final horn.

Cambage might as well have stayed in the locker room at halftime. She has completely disappeared.

BTW, Norway easily defeats South Korea and will play for its second consecutive gold in women's handball.

In these Olympics, Canada has a total of ONE gold medal, same as Grenada and well behind Kazakhstan (6) and Iran (4).

Astonishly, Finland has just one silver medal and nothing else. Winter Games can't come soon enough.

    I love this photo:

That's the king of Sweden yelling during Sweden's handball quarterfinal win over Denmark, and the queen next to him in the matching Swedish flag-themed shirt.

"Hey, king, could you freakin' tone it down back there?"

    Just cracks me up.

I have always wondered how things would pan out if the US were split into different regions and allowed to field separate teams. Like when the Soviet Union broke up.

If you count the current medal standings and add all the former Soviet Republics, they would be leading the medal race with a 97-83 edge over the United States. That is not even including Lithuania and Estonia, which broke away a few years before the others. Of course, by splitting apart, they get more entries, too, so probably not a real comparsion.
