Hope Solo living a charmed life in this game so far says the announcer.

Yeah, all that good karma she built up via Twitter... ::)

Looks like Leevan Sands of the Bahamas just blew out his knee in the triple jump.

EDIT: And they're bringing out the stretcher.

That 800 was an incredible race. The Americans both went sub-1:43 and finished 4th and 5th. Just an incredibly fast race.

Yeah, Solomon just missed Johnny Gray's million-year-old American record.

What a run and goal by Lloyd, 2-0 now.

I don't think the goalie ever considered the possibility that she would shoot.

It's interesting how many world records in track and (especially) field go back quite a number of years. That sort of surprised me compared to, say, swimming, where new records are set almost annually.

I can't help but wonder how many of those records were set by athletes using some sort of drugs. Have no idea, but it surprised me there haven't been more world records set in recent years.

The keeper was covering the near post, which was the right play. Lloyd just made a spectacular shot.

Can someone explain the rationale behind the substitution rule in soccer?

Would the game be much different if unlimited substitutions were allowed, like hockey or basketball?

Jamaica goes 1-2-3 in the 200. 19.32 wins it.
