Tough day for Ryan Hall. DNF. Hamstring hampered him at about the 10th mile.

Meanwhile, it bears repeating: There was only one Dream Team.

Lot of fouls being called on both sides in the gold medal basketball game.

The only time I can remember the marathon ending during the closing ceremony was in LA in 1984. Now, they've had the medal ceremony there a few times.

It's a flop fest. Expect nothing less from Spain. Did they show their SAG cards to get into the building?

Like Mark said, its been a chippy first half. USA up by one, 59-58.

The first quarter of that game was tremendous, and then the refs ruined the second quarter by going ridiculously whistle happy. They seem to be under the impression that the world tuned in to see them.

I would call the 84 squad a Dream Team before I would mention any modern incarnation.

When you punch people in the dicks, this is the officiating you get.

The more opt comparison might be this US team to the 2008 team. Not sure which of those is better.

But the 1992 team blew out every opponent in sight. Yes, I know the competition is better now, but still. That comparison is not even close.

I like 84 because it was just an insane amount of talent for college players and the perfect coach to whip them into shape.

Knight coaching Jordan is one of the things I would love to have seen in person.

Jesus, James. WTF did you just do to Gasol's face?
