Wow, "Going Underground" by The Jam. Never thought I would hear that or a snippet of "Enola Gay" by OMD. Holy fuck, "Pretty Vacant" too!

I am no fan of Mr. Bean but his bit with the symphony doing the Chariots of Fire bit was pretty funny.

Have been enjoying the music immensely. Bruce Arthur's twitter feed is tremendous right now.

The music has been great, Britain has produced tons of great stuff over the past 50 years, no sense ignoring it. AND a Mike Oldfield appearance! If Lemmy shows up I will shit!

I appreciate the fact that Danny Boyle is seeming to purposefully do something different than the almost militaristic spectacle of Beijing. You aren't going to go "bigger" than that, so why not be wittier and warmer?

Some Monty Python would have been great. Or at the very least Basil Fawlty!

They showed a brief scene of Fawlty Towers during the "TV" section.

glad the techo music is fast, we can get to the end sooner. Wiggins opens with the bell, Beckham boats in the flame so Bannister lights the cauldron?

Not really liking the intros. It's way too dark in that corner they're emerging from.
