I'm thoroughly confused. How come the parade of athletes was at beginning. I thought it was at the end of opening.

    Winnie the Pooh?
    Shakespeare?
    Peter Pan?
    Alice in Wonderland?
Is anyone going to play a song live other than a rapper I have never heard of before?

It's parade, then opening speeches by muckety-mucks, then flame lighting, Boom.

So is it on delay? Based on the earlier comments on this thread I thought that the athletes already marched in.

Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira. They sound exactly the same as when they announce the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Which is to say not good.

If the show was worth a shit they would not be filling so much dead air.

India has 83 athletes. I think 40 are involved in either spelling or telemarketing.

The fact that they have Ryan Seacrest there doing work is horrifying enough.

BTW, great play on that Queen caption and the baseball followup.

The parade of nations is amazing because it's Bob Costas on geopolitics. It wasn't Bob, but whoever his co-pilot is, who just described Rwanda as a nation "with a troubled past." He's describing genocide the same way he would some ACC freshman linebacker with a high school drug bust.
