I also swear by Texas Pete. I can take a Cheerwine once every couple of years when I'm in Salisbury, but otherwise no.

There's one in my corner of the world. I've had a sampling ... eh. There are people here who swear by Duck, but put a little purple in it and they'll declare it the absolute greatest.

Will stick with Dunkin' until a well-run Tim Hortons franchise finds its way here.

I enjoy Dunkin's bagel sandwiches on the road every once in a while. Can't remember the last time I actually had a donut from there.

Agreed on Duck being super overrated.

If God had intended for tea to be sweet, he'd have put sugar in the leaves.

I spit out all teas like Newman spits out broccoli. It tastes like dirt. Goddamn dirt. And I like coffee and black licorice is my favorite flavor on earth.

I was never a fan of Dunkin coffee until I bought it's ground coffee. It is much better than what they serve. Dunkin brews the coffee too hot and too fast and burns the grounds, but at home it is much better.

Daylight Donuts isn’t everywhere, but is the freshest chain stuff I’ve found. Shipley has decent donuts but I like their kolaches more.

I used to love Tim Hortons. Their stuff was fresh and they had a fairly expansive menu of good quality for fast food. And there were many here in Ohio open 24/7! I bet I filed stories from at least 10 different Tims. Their BLTs on bagels were my breakfast at least twice a week for a couple years.

Their quality (at least here) had been steadily decreasing since circa 2015 and rapidly increased when the pandemic hit. I quit going before the pandemic because of poor service, poor quality and most menu items getting axed. They also began limiting their hours.

Once the pandemic hit, the one in our city began closing at about 2. I think it is still open until about 7 now, but that's it. They never have many people when I drive by in the afternoon or evening, so breakfast business must be good enough (I no longer am out in the mornings, so I wouldn't know). The people I talk to who go occasionally say the food/service continues to decline.

I didn't care much for their donuts. They were okay, but there are many good Mom and Pop places around here with superior stuff. Only Tims donut I really liked was an apple fritter, and I'd occasionally get that.

Panera now fills the spot Tims once did for me. Especially since they've recently added Value Duets ($6.99), which are the best value around for fast food. The Sip Club they run ($11 a month for unlimited drinks) is a great deal.

As Heremes said, there are more Dunkins around here, but there are still none close, and I haven't been more than 2-3 times. I have not cared for their donuts. Dry and tasteless.

I should say I don't drink coffee (I drink unsweetened tea; you southerners can keep your sugar water), so that's not a factor for me in comparing these places.

Wendy’s purchase of Tim Horton’s seemed like a slam dunk, but those combo locations never seemed to work.

My only visits to Dunkin Donuts occurred several times at the one in Flagstaff and the donuts didn’t look that special but damn if those bagel sandwiches aren’t the bomb. I may need to get one this week at the DD here in my new hometown.

My freshman year in high school I took the bus and the kid who got on at the stop after me was from the family that owned the Nashville Krispy Kreme franchise and he would bring a box or two of hot ones each day, and share them with his classmates on the bus.
By week two, I never wanted to eat one again and 40+ years later I bet I’ve had less than a half-dozen since.

Wendy's is another place that has slid downhill in the past five years. They tried to get into breakfast yet again, and I didn't really like any of their offerings. At the same time, the quality of the main menu seemed to slip, and they took away things I loved and changed the fries. (No spicy chicken wrap?!?)

Agreed. Completely rudderless. They’ve been replaced by Culver’s in that “the burger looks exactly like it does in the commercial” category. Culver's kicked their ass at being Wendy’s better than Wendy’s.
