Thanks for that. I won't have any time for drinks ... because of the 4:30 p.m. game start, I'm not sticking around. Rather get home than spend my Sunday off driving.

Headed to Las Vegas this Thursday night, flying back Sunday night. Any suggestions for a first-timer there?

While hookers are good for almost anywhere, Vegas really depends on where you are staying. Lots of good joints inside the casinos.
The R-J's Web site also has a best of Vegas and you can find the super, local spots there. Ate at a terrific Mexican spot downtown once while on vacation. We found it on R-J.

Staying at the Barbery Coast. One thing's for sure -- I will have to hit a Sportsbook for the NFL playoffs on Saturday. No way would I miss a chance to witness the gamblers during that.

If I remember right, Barbary Coast is across the street from the Bellagio and you got a rocking good spot.
If win cash, go eat at Delmonico's, Emerill's steakhouse inside the Venetian, I think. Awesome food, just expensive. There'a French joint inside the B, tried to eat there, but I couldn't get a table. Learned a lesson though, for the high end places, make a reservation before you leave.

And when you check in, ask the valet, or shuttle bus driver or the front desk clerk. They can tell you a place or two.

Jay, thanks for the advice. I've jotted down the tips and will carry them to Vegas with me Thursday.

el g ... I'll be back in Asheville for three days in March. Seems like an interesting town to explore. Didn't have much time to hang out this time, but I'm kind of looking forward to going back.

I can't believe someone is taking my advice ... on anything.
And just in case you want to check out nekkid women while you are there. The cabbies get a cut if they take people to the strip clubs. The cabbie will hook you up with a pass, or a big discount for the all-nude clubs. Booze and panties not allowed at those places.
