I wonder how many people who are so bravely canceling their WaPo subscriptions -- thus hurting the people who have exactly zero input into this decision -- have Amazon packages on their doorstops, their delivery recorded by their Ring doorbell, or shop at Whole Foods. How many of the subscription cancelers will logically follow suit and not do business with any of those Bezos-owned companies.

I'm guess it's less than 5 percent of them. So brave.

You mean billionaires buying newspapers instead of Alden isn't the panacea that some claimed it would be?

Rolling Stone also endorsed Harris today.

I never understood how Germany in the '30s happened, or how the racism of the South had so much institutional support - now I do. Its called moral weakness.

A Mormon viewpoint, in the Deseret News, and a perfectly valid, true and non-divisive but telling stand that, frankly, the L.A. Times or the Washington Post could have made.

I would have had more respect if they endorsed Trump. Wondered about their thought process and figured they were idiots - but at least you OWN it. Hard to be viewed as an authority on anything when you "yada, yada, yada" the case against Trump.

    Why the snark?

How else besides canceling subscriptions would you suggest people make their sentiments known about this action/non-action by the newspaper? Particularly given that people just found out about this today, and given the fact that it wouldn't be surprising if, also before today, a lot of regular people didn't even know Bezos owned the Washington Post.

This paper -- one of greatest in the country -- is abdicating a great responsibility and committing a dereliction of duty by not fulfilling one of the most important acts of service that there is for a journalism entity. It is almost inconceivable (and I only say "almost" after today) that a newspaper of the stature of the Washington Post (and/or the L.A. Times) would have done this less than two weeks out from any election, let alone this one.

It was a unilateral decision by one man. 'The newspaper" didn't make the decision.
