YF, I think it's hilarious. I also think it's a monstrous miscalculation of how many people out there "get" tongue-in-cheek humor.

I think the Post trusts that their readers understand their brand and are in on the joke.

Maybe some won't, but you'd have to be pretty dense to read the Post every day, and not get it.

People on the web who see it posted might not be familiar with the Post's voice, but the headline writer isn't writing for them.

Are you an illegal? Rhody wants to have a word. It's obvious you do not work in sports journalism if you're not a sockpuppet.

What the Heck are you talking about? Have you lost your mind?
Stop trolling Kermit. I enjoy reading thoughtful post's but this is non sense.

Well, I know what I'm not liking about soccer.

Given his firm grasp of the English language, I'm guessing Kermit is a Nigerian soccer fan.

I just want to say that the headline for this thread is one of the best ever.

And, while Twirling Time gets credit for the headline, Kermit is by far the better sock puppet.

    He's really defined his brand.

When I saw this thread had been resurrected, I expected some reference to the Women's World Cup, not some whiny bitch complaining about something posted seven months before he ever registered. It has me leaning toward the sockpuppet explanation.

Leaning? I didn't think it was in question.

No joke - and they tend to read almost exactly like a certain person's regular posts. It's a very thin sock.
