    There was a classic headline years ago in the LSU student paper after an LSU-South Carolina women's basketball game: "Lady Tigers down Cocks"

    A couple years later they ran an AP story about Kerry Wood after his 20-strikeout game:
    "Cubs rookie Wood now on the rise"

    EDIT: Remembered one more...
    At one of the small weeklies in Mississippi, after a high school football game:

    "Weir takes Leake on road"
