It's been 25 years since I've been out there. Last time I went was during a trip with my mom to visit her relatives in nearby Edenton. They were actually moving a lighthouse farther inland because of beach erosion.

ADD: We also visited relatives in Hertford, which was a little closer.

As of last year, Tortuga's Lie was still there. We ate there and it was OK. I have some friends who swear it's the best place on the Outer Banks, but everybody will have a different opinion. If you are into healthy eating, there's a place called the Fresh Fit Cafe on the causeway from Nags Head to Manteo. That became our go-to place on our last trip. We couldn't go this year because of COVID-19 and the Outer Banks prohibition on visitors earlier this year.
