Everyone who has said on here that it's easy to figure out who they are, I have no idea who they are. Well, unless they did Secret Santa, then I know some of them.

Hell, I still don't know who shotglass is, and we've been here since the beginning.

    True.

But those people, unfortunately, do exist on the board. :(

When you guys go out on your gatherings, do you say "Hello, I'm Johnny Sportswriter from the Daily Bugle and my username is Writer1", or do you just get along and not even exchange nicknames?

Just curious. I would think that if you shared all, many people would know many people, thus voiding the anonymity.

When I hung out with OTD and attempted to hang out with Old Tony, I exchanged my real name and phone number via PM. I am not totally concerned if people know who I am and if I am going to hang out with them then I'm curious to know what their handle is.
So, for all one of you who wonders who I am, you will know if you attend the Dallas outing.

In Toronto, I said who I was. I already knew some of the people, and others said who they were. Some only gave first names, and a couple used only their handle.

The only reason I care is because of future, potential employers. I don't want to call some guy a fuckstick twatwaffle and then have him throw my resume out because of it. Like someone said earlier, anonymity helps people feel comfortable saying whatever and avoids the castle system.

    Castle system?
I don't think I've ever said anything really hateful about anyone or their papers and if I don't get hired because of the toothpaste story, then I probably don't want to work in such a humorless newsroom anyway.

From the Vegas outing, we all know each other by first names. How dumb would it be to walk around all weekend calling buckweaver buckweaver and sportschick sportschick and cadet cadet and BNwriter BNwriter and OTD OTD and Darling Joe Darling Joe?

I fear that what I perceive as my dream life is really my waking life and what I perceive as my waking life is really my dream life.
