I'd have to say the public would much rather get information than see my ugly mug around town. I'm in the same situation and have never felt that way, nor have I been told that from higher ups. The more I'm covering my team on site, the better the coverage has been. And in turn, the head honchos are pleased.

I guess that's what you get when you have a publisher who knows what he's doing and isn't answering to the Gannett machine.

    Pipeline info:

    1. The Chris Havel thing is - and I quote - "total bullshit." No way the JS is looking at him or will look at him. Bank on it.

    2. Mike Sando from Tacoma will be interviewing for the gig next week. I'm guessing if he wants the job, it's his.

Don't know Gary. Do know Garry. But this didn't come from him, at least not straight to me. Perhaps to the source, I don't know. Source knows his shit, I know that.

    He will forrgive you.

  7. Wow. If they add Sando, that is an amazing trio for football coverage with Bob and Spoon Silverstein. I'd be a bit surprised if Sando makes that move since he wouldn't be lead dog, but covering the Packers for the MJS is never a bad move. If indeed he wants it, I'd be surprised if they even bother with anyone else.

If Sando wants/takes the gig, it would be tough to decide if Milwaukee's gain outweighs Tacoma's loss.

Oh wait, no it wouldn't...Tacoma'd be screwed.

Thing is, if online is really what they want, then Sando is who they want. He might be a little nuts about it, but his online content is top notch. Kudos to Garry for being with-it enough to realize that.

    Update from Pipeline:

Mike Sando interviewed Wednesday. No idea how it went or if Sando wants the job, but the interest is very high (obviously) from the JS side.

Me again - Sando is the dude that Borges "borrowed" some copy from, right?
