Zeke, I know you are just having fun, but... when was the last time a man was given a ticket for taking his shirt off?

Oz, here is your link for Puritanical. As defined, getting uppity over breastfeeding is as such. I didn't say you were stupid. I didn't say you need your head examined. I said it is a Puritanical view that seems to overtake America.

Saying, "Welfare is an excellent program" could be classified as a "liberal viewpoint." It isn't an insult, it is an accurate characterization.

If you want to take offense at the term "puritanical" that's fine. But if you had your way, nursing moms would be pretty put out to keep you from being uncomfortable. I'd rather go with the moms in that case.

    Oz,

You were the one suggesting a woman should have walked 300 yards to feed her kid in the bathroom of a football stadium rather than make you uncomfortable.

Would you eat your lunch in that restroom?

Pastor -- didn't we just have a thread on that. Somewhere a municipality is considering just such a law.

One policy point for my new campaign will be if we push for public fellatio to be legal -- provided the woman swallows.

    Then she is being fed.

I must have missed that thread. It seems like it was a real good one, too.

What's funny is that I tend to lean very liberal on most issues. Just not this one.

Orangey Snicket, I would urinate in the bathroom. I wouldn't urinate in the press box. It's not just about the awkward situation, it's about flopping out of body parts that help create that awkwardness.

Why does everything have to be a total "fuck you" pissing contest? If you want to talk logically, there are two separate issues here:

    1. There's nothing offensive to me, and I would dare say a vast majority of the population, about that magazine cover.

    2. Public breast-feeding is gross. Most Americans agree whether you like it or not.

Again, for the vast majority, It's not a matter of passing a law to ban people from doing it, or questioning a woman's "RIGHT" to whip her titty out anywhere she pleases, but rather a matter of proper decorum. Much like the example of picking your nose in public. Just because I say breast-feeding public is improper, it doesn't mean I'm persecuting you or trying outlaw the practice. It's fucking gross. Please don't do it. I'm not lobbying for a federal breast-feeding prohibition - just making a request for the majority of us. Thanks.

What has happened to common courtesy?

Breast feeding is not gross. Surely you mean "awkward" or "jarring." And the picture is very artistic. One having a problem with it would be a bit uptight, I would say.

Picture is fine; it's the real life situation that's awkward with me.

It's not about whipping it out "whenever she pleases" -- trust me -- the moms WANT privacy.  Bigtime.

But I think it's probably a decision between feeding your child vs. privacy.  And that's where the maternal instinct kicks in.  It goes back to the caveman days - the instinct to feed your child when its hungry is that strong.

I think some of you will feel differently about this when/if your wives are confonted with some of these problems.

I think public urination is also a health issue. I don't think it is solely based on seeing a bunch of man-junk hanging out of flies.

Oz, I'm aware of your political leanings. On this, though, it is a Puritanical view. In America, Puritanical views are everywhere when it comes to sex.

PoO, to a degree it can be that way to you and many many others. However, you have to see that walking a kid outside is healthy. The mother pushing the kid in a cart or carrying the kid around is healthy for her as well. As such, children could get hungry at any given time. As such, that boob is going to be whipped out and the kid is going to be fed.

You can't tell people that it is more proper to stay indoors with a young child so that others won't be offended by the site of naked boob. It seems a bit rude to do so.
