What a jerk. It's just a small minority of terrorists.

Not a small minority. Seems like I post this link every time something like this happens, but it's important.

    http://www.pewforum.org/files/2013/04/worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-full-report.pdf

    Go to page 29.

Percentage of Muslims who say suicide bombing in the defense of Islam is "often/sometimes" justified.

    Palestinian territories - 40%
    Afghanistan - 39%
    Egypt - 29%
    Bangladesh - 26%
    Malaysia - 18%
    Jordan - 15%
    Turkey - 15%
    Pakistan - 13%
    Tunisia - 12%
    Morocco - 9%
    Indonesia - 7%
    Iraq - 7%
    Russia - 4%

    From page 36.

"In the U.S., about eight-in-ten Muslims (81%) say that suicide bombing and similar acts targeting civilians are never justified. Across the globe, a median of
    roughly seven-in-ten Muslims (72%) agrees."

It hasn't been minimized. Maybe this attack will be the catalyst for some real leaders to emerge.

In the past couple years, Buddhists (!) in Myanmar have killed hundreds, maybe thousands of Muslims. Just a note. No one has ignored anything. No one isn't as pissed as you are. So what's next?

This discussion is ultrastupid. If it were taking place on a college campus, the hunger strike would have already begun; the tent city would be erected (heh); and the complaints of microbeaggression would have started.

To switch directions a bit ... As I alluded to earlier, this had to take a long, long time to plan. Given all the surveillance in the post-9/11 world , I can't imagine some signs weren't missed. No way this all went down completely unbeknownst to any authorities.

Our college kids could really show those French students how to be more aggrieved.

France's security service is overstretched. If these were new, or to be more accurate, unknown within France, terrorists, they might have slipped though, as like all law enforcement, France's cops focus on suspects they've already been in contact with. The reason the 9/11 gang was identified in a matter of hours was that they used airplanes, where all passengers are identified prior to a flight.

That survey is like asking Germans when the Nazis where running things if they hated all Jews. Hard to tell if respondents are just saying they think suicide bombing is justified for fear of being accused of being infidels themselves.
