I can't believe how many people here fall in lockstep with every fucking issue of a party's platform.

Isn't it wonderful to have political discussions back? Huge international story and the thread devolves into name-calling and attacks along political lines rather than ongoing developments in the story.

Well, what exactly are you doing to "prepare"? Could you share a few pointers from your ISIS survival guide with us?

I'll never understand people who harbor this brand of paranoia. All that junk food and beer they invariably consume is infinitely more likely to prematurely kill them than any mooslem terrorist, but they ain't about to give that up. "But, by god, I must prepare now for ISIS showing up at my front door to kill me and my family!"

It has always struck me that the more evangelical a conservative is (or claims to be), the more scared they are to die at the hands of a boogeyman (commie, terrorist, etc.) and thus demand guns and military intervention to "protect" them.

Seems to me these are the people who should be most at peace with "Whatever happens, happens. I'm taken care of."

Wasn't this the opening lyrics to that Baz Luhrmann song?

Don't tell anyone, but there a few issues in which I tend to agree with "the other side," but they're such arrogant whiners that I can't help but fuck with them.

Cue up oop's inevitable admonishing response. And Baron's post that will say just the opposite of what someone else said pages ago.

Awesome. I managed to resist. :)
It isn't hard to believe, but it is kind of sad.

    Ok.

BTW Star, it was Interpol who flagged these guys and the Honduran police who caught them. US customs & immigration had nothing to do with it so I'm not sure why you're blowing their horn.

Immigration enforcement is pretty much a dual effort between agencies at both the departure and arrival points anyway, isn't it?

Can someone explain the logic for an ISIS terrorist thinking that refugee status with its 12- to 18-month screening process, involving multiple agencies and interviews, is the efficient way to go here?
