I can't help but point out that a few Mafia guys came over in the early 1900s and more than a few criminals mixed in with the Mariel refugees from Cuba in 1980. Some of the first settlers in the U.S. in the 1600s and 1700s were the result of European countries emptying their jails, just like Castro did. The counter to that is those people seemed interested mainly in making a few bucks and killing each other, not randomly killing civilians.

I've spent a fair bit of time in the last couple of days reading this thread. All of it. 97 + pages of some of the most sickening, illogical, dimwitted, interesting, thought provoking, hate-filled, common-sense lacking, sad, and last but not least grotesque posts I have ever seen.
They have all come from a variety of people. Right-winged, left-winged, Canadian, American, Hispanic, European.......Black, White, Brown........Male, Female.........and From college-aged on up.
They've come from people in the newspaper industry, and some have not.
My point to all of this is simple.
    Thank You.
Thank You to the moderators who have to referee this board that (Im sure they would admit to it also) can be kind of a shitshow at times.
Thank You to the good people of this board that may talk big and bad on the board, but could probably resolve their differences with each other over a couple of stiff drinks and the ability to keep an open mind.
I've been fortunate to have been on SJ for several years now.
Some of the people that have been on here have driven me crazy......made me laugh......made me cry......made me wanna chop my toes off (SHUT UP........JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP.)
So, just keep doing what you're doing. Give them something to think about for a while. And at the end of the day, everybody's going to get through this mess just fine.

    Cheers.

Then why were they traveling when she was about to give birth?

Clearly, they should have sent messengers ahead to find accommodations. It was really a fluid situation.

Should have booked with Expedia or Orbitz, or at least investigate Trip Advisor.

I had posted Cruz's response to that on the Trump thread, which was even more laughable.

He whined that Obama was taking shots at him from foreign soil, instead of "saying it to his face." What's he going to do when a foreign leader like Putin or a terrorist takes a shot at him from their country? Whine "say it to my face?"

    Christmas trivia!

    1) How many wise men were there?

    2) How long did Jesus, and Joseph and Mary, remain in Bethlehem?
