I heard on the radio that Amtrak trains are delayed through Rhode Island due to high water. I don't know which side of Providence that is though. Too late for tonight's game anyway.

    Well, I made it.
I drove to Stamford, no problem. Parked at the Marriot, walked a half-mile to the train station and got their eight minutes before the next train to Grand Central.
Lucky for me, I ran into a former college buddy and ex-bball walk-on who was going to the game and he guided me the rest of the way. Also kept the train ride from being boring.
So far, so good. Internet is free, food appears to be free.
Like I said, anyone wants to meet Rhody in person, I look like Tweety Bird with a black sweater vest.
Thanks for everyone's help - and Stitch is probably right. Southern RI got killed with water. School cancelled. At exit 2 there was a three mile backup because the highway was overrun with water and right at the border, I saw an ambulance trying to drive through four or five feet of water to get to an abandoned car.

Just heard from home - 95 north is closed at the RI/Conn. line, which is going to add some time to my drive as I go around it to the north on 395.
    And MSG is very overrated.

But only because of the "Welcome to the world's most famous arena" announcements.

Can't stress enough to make sure your parking garage/lot stays open long enough after the game that you can file your story. Some close an hour or so after an event ends. Ask an attendant and get a firm answer. I covered a hockey game in Albany once, stayed to file the story and found the parking garage chained and locked when I got there. It was a Saturday and the garage didn't open until Monday. It cost me a hotel room and a Greyhound ticket. Oh, and two nights' overnight parking.

When you are home safely, please tell us what you mean by MSG is overrated.

He must have bumped into BYH, that's his favorite phrase.

Believe me, BYH is vastly overrated

    False.

    No one rates BYH.

    I'm alive.
Managed to avoid panic attack and made my way from MSG to subway to Grand Central and wrote on the train. I earn a bonus point for not paying the Marriot for parking because when I left, all the regular exits were fenced down and the only other exit had no attendent. Winner.
My problem with MSG is I've only heard how wonderful and magical it is, but to me it looked like any old beat down arena. I got a sense of history, but it was kind of dreary in there. I don't know. I was expecting to walk in and be blown away and it didn't happen.
Plus the $8 fish they had was turrible.
