Are you familiar with the AV Club and TVW's work specifically? Dude is a great critic, but that's his thing. Thinking deeply about shows. His Community reviews are like essays by a Founding Father.

Just as it's Smasher_Sloan's thing to degrade people for caring about things.

Think about all the things you could have done while you were crafting that clever reply.

I get what the AV Club article is going for, but I just don't see it.

The city council race absolutely did have credible opposition, and I think he glosses over Leslie Knope's weaknesses in trying to make it sound as if she were too good for it. Leslie is very smart and incredibly drive, but frequently incredibly naive and doesn't think much beyond her own good intentions to the practical results.

I thought the Sweetums heir was was a great foil. Rich cynicism manipulating the results for their own pesronal gain is the antithesis of everything Leslie stands for, and in a town like Pawnee it should have worked pretty easily.

And who doesn't like councilman Jamm as a villain? He was awesome in pretty much every scene and was a more than credible opponent.

They are flailing a tiny bit now that they essentially had their series finale mid-season, but I'm confident they'll recover.

I think Jamm is weak because you know he's going to fail. He's funny but not credible. I agree about the city council vote, though.

Did you miss the defense of Medicare spending levels on the Political thread?

I try not to read that thread anymore.

Dooley and others became quite agitated when I suggested that we try to find ways to achieve the same results for less money.

Someone got to Hitler really, really quickly. ("Gas chambers were efficient, too!")
