Except wasn't that information public? After all, that's the argument they're using in court.

Except, of course, when they're using the argument that it WAS a major investigative piece above the law.

Still no response to the main argument of the case.

  4. Re: **UPDATE** Part 6 of McGwire story up on You Tube NOW

Do you have any clue how many major investigative pieces are done with information that's public?
    Do you?
    No.

Good point. A lot of sports media has dropped the ball on the whole Grimsley case, and the NFL did a DAMN GOOD job on sweeping the whole Carolina & Merriman situations under the rug. Why can't we take a shit on these guys like we have on Bonds, Sosa and "Black Mark" McGwire?

For the same reason that George Clooney and Tom Cruise are on more magazine covers than Steve Buscemi and Ethan Hawke, even though they all are actors who appear in movies.

Exactly - very well said. That is what I have been trying to say.

Yup. To the typical sports fan, decades-old home run records are pretty damned sexy. Guys who make tackles for a living? Entertaining, but not sacred.

And Sosa is a household name, while most people have not heard of Merriman.
As far as who is sexier, I would assume Merriman's balls are bigger because he hasn't been using roids as long, so from a woman's perspective you have to say Merriman.

Ragu, you basically chopped off what was left of his testes satchel with the whole GoS counter-point. John, if you're reading this: you are a damned fool. I tried holding off, but you're making like an ostrich (or a late-90s baseball/current NFL columnist) and sticking your head in the sand. You've refused to listen to our suggestions, then our counter-points. Face it: you're trying your best to look smart because you're an insider, but you're just rambling around.

PS - Please don't try to say I know nothing about lifting or sports. I played D-1 baseball three years ago, so I do have an idea about the training involved.

    Nice BW!

Exactly, please tell me how Mark, a guy who won't talk to anyone & is holed up on a private golf course in Irving, & is 5 years out of the game is more relevant or "sexy" than a Pro bowl critical player for the top NFL team who just FAILED a test for steroids (& is up for defensive player of the year!), or fresh extensive new revelations about 100+ players FAILING drug tests in MLB (and now we can match the ID's & know who they are)!!!

Or how about Bonds who is about to break the all-time HR total and is a bigger name than Mark & is still playing?

Answer - because the media is making it that way and feeding the "scandal" on Mark bc they want to.

I am not saying it is not a legit story to try to get the truth on Mark (and I am trying to help - that is what this is all about), but to pretend the coverage is fair or "balanced" is crazy.

We are all smarter than that,

    John
