I have been reading this site for a while now, but this thread finally got me to sign up as a poster. Thank you all for providing some of the biggest laughs I've had in a while.

I just read all 12 pages of this in one sitting, and there have been times the tears of laughter flowed. This thread should never, ever be locked.

John V., I hope I never meet you. Because of this thread alone, I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face, and then you would probabaly rip me in half. That said, I will root for you if I ever see you on ESPN at 3 a.m. in the future.

    Great stuff everyone. Whatever.

JDV, is there any way I can sign up for wireless alerts to be sent to my cell phone when you post a new installment?

    Whatever.

So it's safe to assume my mentioning Wisconsin's basketball destruction of the Gophers on Saturday wipes out all that goodwill? (Running like hell back to my room)

Do steroids contribute to babbling as well as male pattern baldness?

Glad I could entertain & motivate you Seahawk!

& no I don't rip people in 1/2 for laughing at me - I laugh at myself everyday.

But hey - you should check out vids # 9 & 10 that are up as they have good info on Mark's Congressional testimony.

This poll is getting VERY interesting and I think has major implications for how voters should view HOF voting in the future and we all talk about/cover this subject.

Although the two people who voted for 0-10% and 10-20% need to get their head examined or cover some other sport bc they don't know what they are talking about in my opinion.

Have to agree with this point, in my opinion as well. At least until the more recent testing (and I think still now) standards upgrade, I believe MLB was as bad (or worse b/c of better testing) as the NFL, and that's saying something. Remember, you have so many guys from Latin America and 'roids are legal there. Plus, you have a ton of American MLB'ers who play winter ball down in Latin America. I think this has a lot to do with the past "30 lbs. offseason 'weight training' gains" we've seen from guys. Granted, it is better now, but when you factor in amphetamines (try to play 162 games in a season while partying like many of these guys party) and other drugs (recreational drugs), I think MLB's drug usage % is way up there.

Wait a minute....I thought one of the things your brother was saying was that it was possible to gain that much muscle using the 'clean' programs he used with McGwire. Yet you say Latin American steroids "has a lot to do" with the past offseason weight training gains...

Another great point/question. Most MLB guys don't train the way my brother trained McGwire, which included heavy deadlifts and squats which stack on mass. For someone like McGwire, who hadn't done squats or deadlifts much at all, you can build serious mass from that in a short time. But if you look at a lot of the guys from that time, you'll see ENORMOUS upper bodies, primarily. That you can't do in a short time, and the weight gain isn't anywhere near as great because the muscle groups are smaller than the lower body ones. That's 'roids, HGH, etc.
