It's a fair point. John wants to help Mark. If he wanted to make money, he could have written a book a long time ago, like, say, when Mark broke the record. I think we can all agree that either then or right after the Congressional hearings would have been the peak time to profit from such a book. He didn't. He's posting this stuff now, here, on the eve of the HOF vote. These are facts to consider.

The timeline and the facts of the special guest are accurate, I assure you. I was in on some of the discussions. One thing I've never done for JDV is lie for him. I'm not about to start now. But I cannot prove that to you, spup, I grant you that.

I would consider this, however. John is a member of the California state bar. Direct misrepresentation and false statements are a good way to get yourself disbarred quickly. If John did that, he would lose his livelihood. That is, John has a lot to lose by throwing around statements like 'libel' if they don't fit. He could lose his law license.

The special guest has no such concerns. As I mentioned, his goal is to make it back to MLB. And his actions - in the way I described - perfectly fit that goal.

Just a couple of things to consider. Hopeully, they help.

Nah BW - like 5-20 seconds typically on natural breaks on like 2-3 vids to make them fit under 10 minutes (You Tube guidelines for non-directors)

That is it - SG could have said whatever he wanted or nothing (even better) or not showed up at all (best). Anyway, its all on tape - watch the vids and judge for yourself.

SG is very willing and pumped up and at one point passes that stupid Bobby Knight quote as his own whereupon I cut off his clownery and get back to the facts. If he wants to do some Jammie Kennedy (sp?) video spoof he can do it on his own time.

Again, I am not talking about that stupid stuff any more waste of my time

    You don't know John . . . ha ha.

And on a similar point, hey I don't have ANY problem with people picking on John in the least. Look, all of us in the family know how John is, trust me. You guys have dealt with this for like four days or so. Those of us who grew up with him have dealt with his, ummmm, 'positive self image' far longer. BELIEVE ME, I feel your pain.

I just draw the line on outright lies like those of the special guest and some earlier comments. John is what he says he is, believe me, I've heard ALL about it numerous times from him. :)

But the type of stuff that Ragu is saying/pics making is hilarious, for real. It's stuff I can appreciate and join in. You think John's like this all this time and hasn't faced a TON of ribbing and such? No freaking way. Especially not in his fields of endeavor.

As far as being defensive (I'm sorry I forget who mentioned it), in the business John's in (I've done it too), if you don't answer a false claim, you're toast. You're only as good as your rep, so if someone messes with your rep, you BETTER respond, or you're done. Especially if you're running your own business.

The special guest knows that. That was the 'retribution' part (along with the 'smooth things with MLB' part) of his posting. He knows what John does.

Hope this all helps. Hey, everybody needs to have thick skin. I know that as well as anyone. But there's a difference between making fun of someone and calling someone a liar and a fraud. Big difference. That's where I draw the line.

    Peace.

Those were a couple outstanding efforts today, Doc. But, on the next one, could you put "whatever" somewhere? Like after toasted wheat part at the bottom left or something?

Doc, I believe I might have to retain your services in the future for family gatherings. Please plan appropriately. :)

And you have all the details down, too. Like my apparent misuse of slander for libel.

Ladies and gentleman, your SJ newbie of the year. I, for one, am taking notes. :)

Here's what I can respect, seriously, all the other bs aside: brother has brother's back BIG TIME. I like that. Not everyone is so lucky.

And can we please stop "quoting" the fucking picture?

Thanks, Mod. JDV told me about your pm. Thanks. Hey, we're old school, man. Blood is thick, man. And it's been said, so I don't want to go into it, but we come from a tough background. Someone's gotta have your back. :)

Thanks for the props. You're a good man. And, JDV and I are lucky, and we appreciate that.

Oh, and btw, I 'timed out' earlier, that was what happened. It just occured while I was trying to post, thus the problem.

    Yeah, I know, I'm brilliant. *duh* :)
