The only reason you say this is because you do not have experience with these situations so to a untrained eyes you wouldn't see the proof or understand what is being said. For those that know about these subjects it is a seminar in learning about how things have happened but not why they happened. Unfortunately you would need years of experience to fully see through all this. It is sort of like explaining rocket science to a broadcaster. Yea you might understand the basics but you wouldn't know how the system works or what certain reactions cause another unless you have studied it.

    Doc,
Nothing posted on here has ever made me laugh myself to tears. Nothing, that is, until the latest Wheaties box. Holy sheeet, that's funny.

    Toasted whole wheat flakes, whatever.

You should take a victory lap for that one.

I'm still crying, by the way.

"Asking me or any other player to answer questions about who worked out with John D. Villerreal, how often they worked out with John D. Villerreal, or if they even have a clue who John D. Villerreal is, in front of television cameras will not solve the problem, whatever. If a player answers, 'No, I have never heard of John D. Villerreal until someone called me up and told me to check out sportsjournalists.com,' he simply will not be believed; because John D. Villerreal is all about integrity, whatever. If he answers 'Yes, I once had a restraining order taken out on John D. Villerreal, because he was following me around the gym offering unwanted tips and scoops,' he risks public scorn and endless government investigations, whatever.

... My lawyers have advised me that I cannot answer these questions about John D. Villerreal, without jeopardizing my friends, my family, myself and a special guest. I'm not here to talk about John D. Villerreal. I'm here to be positive about this subject, whatever."

This is factually inaccurate, in JDV's case.

I never promised anything, didn't even know JDV was going to do this.

I haven't watched even 3 of the videos, so I don't know everything in them.

Are there any 'scoops?' I don't know not having watched, but I understand some people not thinking there are based on what I've seen. I might disagree, but I get that.

Here are just some facts (not opinions): John trained Mark, for an extended period of time. John has trained many pro athletes. John is an expert on performance-enhancing drugs. John is an expert on training, and what can be accomplished with or without drugs, and in what time periods. John was very close to Mark and was consulted with by Mark and his representation at various times over the years concerning JDV's discussing these 'supplement' issues and giving Mark advice about PR strategies. John has inside knowledge of what goes on and has gone on in MLB and other pro locker rooms in terms of drug use. I could go on, but that's enough.

None of these are opinions. They are facts. And these facts lead to other facts, and informed opinion. Don't make the mistake of thinking what yours and my 'opinion' on training is the same as an expert's 'opinion' on training. It isn't, it doesn't hold the same weight. All opinions are not the same. There are oceans between the difference in a guess and an educated guess. Same with opinions.

    Just so you know.

Your right to some extent - but again not that simple.

Ownership is corporate and has to play to the larger audience (PR, Fans, Political, media). So, they have to act like they care about health & safety, drug testing etc.

Do they REALLY care?? I certainly hope so.

Are they culpable in that they knew what was going on or should have known? You can answer that yourself - again everyone gets all crazy over steroids but amphetimines are the real danger in MLB and have been in the league for a long long time very widely.

Although, remember many pro sports are inherently dangerous to varying degrees - so taking steroids for instance may be much less dangerous than simply playing in the NFL (ruptured spleen Mr. Simms...anyone...anyone?), but I digress.

Right, most players and thus the Union just want to play and get paid. more specifically the Union wants to protect the top players that run the union (a reason why minor league testing is tougher than MLB testing from when I last checked)

As in most things in life follow the money & power and it will all make sense.

So, basically the point of all this is trying to show how Mark McGwire may not have even taken steroids, but if he did, it is justified because none of us understands what he goes through and lots of other athletes do it, too?

I can't say for 100 percent certain that McGwire used steroids. I think he did and I think the fact that he didn't stand up and deny it in front of Congress shows he did something other than just listen to bad legal advise. That is simply my opinion.

But to say athletes using illegal performance enhancers did nothing wrong? Sorry, that's crap. Prisons are full of people who say we can't understand them because we weren't in their shoes. Too fucking bad.

Have I had opportunities in my life to cut corners, to cheat, to get ahead by doing something wrong? Damn right I have. I have chosen to get by on my merits and on occasion I have paid for that. We all have temptations and needs that are just out of our grasp. Those are some of the moments that define our character.

JDV, you called Donovan McNabb a loser on another thread today, I guess because he got hurt? I don't know. Most of what you write is to damn unclear. But there are all kinds of losers in this world and the people who owe their success to cheating have their own special category. I know Mark McGwire has plenty of things I'll never have, but if he really did cheat to get them all, he is just another type of loser.

I still haven't watched these. These were done in response to some of the bullsh*t that was coming from some of John's discredited powerlifting 'haters.'

They doubted his accomplishments, and he shut them up, with some flair, apparently. They don't question his credentials much anymore.

While this might be slightly funny it really is not a joke. John D Villerreal is a true human being with extensive knowledge that you apparently want to throw away because.....? (which is to say I have no idea why because knowledge is power) I guess you are more interested in scoring points with your collective whole rather then a seeker of truth. I always thought journalist decided to do their jobs because they wanted to find out and bring out the truth but at this point you seem to more interested in bashing some one. I guess you don't want to do the story of the year.

Not until I have a chance to send you back to your room for your little crack about the Gophers! ;)

Then kill it. This thread needs to die. It has long out-lived its non-usefulness.

    Whatever.
