Jeez, I leave for a weekend in Vegas and come back to this...well, whatever it is I'm not reading 23 pages of it. Can I wait for the movie?

Wow, what did I do to get mentioned twice your honor? Apparently, I lead the charge in claiming JDV is offering nothing new and in fact is just like any old person on the street that has an opinion about whether or not McGwire belongs in the hall.

    Oh come on BW

1.) Asked and aswered - I trained Mark McGwire and was around him a LOT for what 6-7 years, I am an expert on this issue & can inform as to Mark, MLB, drug & supplement use, elite athletics, etc., etc, etc.

2.) Simple, because you don't beleive me about #1.

3.) I don't know who your readers are so I can't say. If ESPN.com then its OBVIOUS what I can offer - if you cover HS football in a small town (no offense to anyone that does) then I can offer little for you right now. So you tell me & then I can tell you. If you want to PM me then that is fine.

What's amazing is that the original thread was even funnier. And don't forget the thread started and deleted by the special guest.

When I mention "the special guest" and someone who was away from the board for four days has just happened to check out this thread has no clue what I'm talking about and I can't easily explain it to him, you know this thread is kind of like "The Wire" discussions on here.

Interesting, You are wrong about that & just "so you know" your last post had some decent insight into training basball players yet several of your facts are wrong most notably the fact that I stated I trained Mark for only 4 weeks which is completley false.

I never made that claim & that timeline is wrong.

    Brilliant

JDV - In one of your posts you said as far as "you know" McGwire didn't use steroids and when he was around you "he didn't" use steroids, but what about when he wasn't around you and how do you know he wasn't hiding his use from you?

    Aww, thanks, Flash.

Back to the topic at hand. If I had something like this to say, my approach might have been something like this:

Hey guys, my name is U.T. Shooter. Here are my credentials (BRIEFLY).
    Here's my proof.
    Here are some informed opinions.

Instead, all I'm seeing is a promise of proof, and assertion that he has it.

Moreover, I'm confused why repeated requests for such proof bring only ridicule for being lousy journalists.

John, I'm not trying to discredit you or attack you. I am trying to engage in reasonable, meaningful dialog, and all I got from you, in response to my direct, serious question, was a diatribe about how you've been mistreated. I'm going to assume, in the interest of harmony here, that your use of the word "you" in said response was of the general, plural nature, as I've done none of the things you allege.

Now, would you care to carry on as adults?

In the words of the immortal JDV, whatever ... I said 'if he claims,' you'll have to forgive me for not being more alert after wading through 23 pages of this stinkweed in an attempt to cure my insomnia.
By the way, the few seconds of each of the first three videos that I watched damn near gave me a seizure. I didn't think anyone other than Pierre Maguire was capable of that and I don't watch his shit anymore either.
And just so I understand better how Mac trained, would you care to post what kind of program you recommended to him, following the hypertrophy phase? Did you incorporate plyometrics into his training? Did you use an undulating or a static periodization?

Hey John good stuff. Obviously you know a lot about fitness, besides sharing your insights on McGwire why don't your share your thoughts on working out.

What do you see as perfect fitness regimen to maintain a high level of fitness for the average person?

What is your position on creatine?

    1) A LOT of people were around McGwire for a LOT of time, while he was playing. You say you trained him -- you weren't the only one, not from 1987-2001 inclusive. You claim you were around him for 6-7 years. I'm not watching an hour's worth of 10 separately edited videos to see which 6 years those were, and what you and he did during those years. You haven't answered that question CLEARLY enough. Answer it clearly, without bullshit, without hyperbole, without being defensive, and maybe I'll give you a serious effort. Until then -- you haven't earned that.

    2) But you haven't answered the most important question yet: WHY? You tell me to research you because I don't believe you. Fair enough. ... But you still haven't told me WHY. You're telling me what to do, but you've not given me any reason why.

In the vague fog of my insomnia, I had found a link this morning to a story of a former A's beat writer (Kettum?) who said through the '90s, Mac just stood around the weight room making jokes.
