    John,
You're not doing Tim Brown any favors by continuing to mention his name. He's a great guy, great reporter, and if he talked to you about a story it's probably because he talks to thousands of people about stories, including weirdos. But when you say "He asked me if I had a company to promote or a way for people to reach me that he could put at the bottom of the column or something," well, that's just not believable.

I could be delusional, because I read through some of this thread last night and woke up with a terrible head ache, but didn't you say at one point that you were offering all these "scoops" about Mark because you wanted journalists to leave him alone? And if these "scoops" are so fantastic or even slightly interesting, don't you think at least ONE media outlet will pick them up, somewhere, someway? Please do keep us informed when -- if -- that ever happens.

I agree. Flash clearly has a very solid, at minimum, background in weight training. Another voice of experience, thankfully.

Um, thanks. I've actually done quite a bit of work on it. Was going to get certified at one point but took a job at a big metro instead. However, I fear you're wading through posts five pages back and will soon get to the part where I shred your egomaniacal sibling. [IMG]

Well, at least now, thanks to this thread, you know you don't have to get certified to be treated as an expert.

Yeah, thanks good to know - feel free to PM me a list so that I can save my time

As for those of you going into this whole message board confidentiality thing - Flash asked for a serious response I delivered to further establish my cred (which was unneeded frankly). She said I could PM it to her. I put some info here and THEN she said "oh well I have this friend who does what you do & can I have your permission to send it to him to review (thus continuing to establish her offer and my reliance on confidentiality) whereupon I said no for the obvious reasons I stated.

Then she played this BS game of saying she was going to get him the info anyway - F' that ok? I think that is unethical. REAL easy to follow!

Flash, you brought this on yourself.

As to your comments I will take the bait on this part as I feel I have a right to vent some
1.) I know more than you about training
2.) I am quite sure I am demonstrably smarter than you (sorry for your delusions)
3.) I have more advanced degrees than you from better schools
4.) I am quite sure I am a much better athlete than you
5.) I am quite sure I am in much better shape than you. So, don't throw stones. I just won Nationals again in 2006 and got best lifter in my class and may compete in MMA.
6.) Funniest of all there is a REAL good chance that my media credentials/credits are BETTER than yours flashy. Oh man.

I am going to stop getting pulled into the gutter bc this is just garbage real garbage.

The funniest part of it all is that while the critics were trying to roast me - it is quite possible, perhaps likely, that Jayson Stark took some of my good info and just published a really awesome article as can be seen here:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/hof07/columns/story?columnist=stark_jayson&id=2724114&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos1

The rest of you missed out on those scoops HE got (wait I thought there were no scoops/good info????)!

    How does that feel?

ha ha, at least I am doing my job while I post

    Way to go Jayson!

& hey thanks to the rest of you here that have supported me & Rok (Indian, DyePack, Football_bat, Boom, Mod1, Jason Whitlock, etc., etc.)

I will try to post more good stuff going forward and ignore the junk.

    John

Now this is a damn good question, Angola. One of the best I've seen on the whole thread. You have an excellent mind, as I've said before when I said you should be in forensics. You have a very analytical mind. That's awesome. I bet you are a damn good reporter.

Look, I'm sorry for taking shots at you. I've never had any issues with you. When you're taking the side of the snarky and lazy, and the target is my brother (and me), I'm going to come at you. But you ask some of the best questions and have one of the best minds I've seen on this site.

Good idea. I may take out an ad in the Sun ... or post a vid on YouTube.

This whole thread has turning into nothing more then some stupid argument of who is right and who is wrong. The intended purpose of JDV's videos was to have journalist question whether Mark McGwire should be considered to be in the Hall of Fame based on his merits. He was just pointing out that Mark never failed a drug test or has ever had any credible evidence saying he has taken steroids. Instead egos seem to have destroyed the message. Why do you have to prove your always on the moral high ground Journalist. Why is it so important to be right, why is it so important to be so questioning of everything that you can't think for yourself or even have compassion or understanding. It is really time to stop this endless argument of JDV's credibility and start thinking about Mark McGwire's Hall of Fame vote.

    Aww, thanks, Flash.

Back to the topic at hand. If I had something like this to say, my approach might have been something like this:

Hey guys, my name is U.T. Shooter. Here are my credentials (BRIEFLY).
    Here's my proof.
    Here are some informed opinions.

Instead, all I'm seeing is a promise of proof, and assertion that he has it.

Moreover, I'm confused why repeated requests for such proof bring only ridicule for being lousy journalists.

John, I'm not trying to discredit you or attack you. I am trying to engage in reasonable, meaningful dialog, and all I got from you, in response to my direct, serious question, was a diatribe about how you've been mistreated. I'm going to assume, in the interest of harmony here, that your use of the word "you" in said response was of the general, plural nature, as I've done none of the things you allege.

Now, would you care to carry on as adults?
    [/quote]

Extremely well-said, UT. This might be the clearest, most objective post of the whole thread, and that includes all of mine and JDV's, too. Great job.

    Angola,

You have NO clue what your talking about - but let's be clear many certs (as I understand it) take ONLY A WEEKEND to get!!

Whooo - there is MAJOR expertise!!

    Some more BRILLIANT reporting

Some certs MIGHT take 2 weeks - be still my heart.

they are virtually meaningless to someone like me. Its almost like getting your CPR cert (which I had) when I was a lifeguard.

Don't be a clown and go learn something
