Look, I am paraphrasing this to the best of my recollection. Moreover, this is NO indictment of Tim nor can I speak to his normal practice or the LAT.

Why I like Tim & from what I can gather is he is knowledgable for a journalist on this subject and wants to get drugs out of sports and give athletes better alternatives. Thus, I think he was looking to give people good info to steer them away from drugs - maybe something like John Villarreal of (X company or website or whatever).

He is probably looking out for the interests of baseball or sports or whatever.

Look, I can't say what was in Tim's mind (I think good things) I can only tell you what I heard (as well as I can remember it) and that is all. Rok was here as well in person (visiting after the holidays) and heard my responses to Tim and what I told him was said right after.

That is all I can tell you.

So, let's just be fair about this.

Moreover, frankly, to Tim's credit my company info (if I had it) would be good news info IMHO. That is something readers would WANT to know.

    Thanks,

    John

Jayson must be even more talented than suspected. Since Hall of Fame ballots had to be submitted by mail or fax by DECEMBER 31, he would have had to go back in time to re-do his after hearing John's amazing scoops.
(BTW, results have already been tabulated by the BWAA and will be announced Tuesday, so whatever John was hoping to accomplish here should have been done ages ago. But whatever.)

JDV, I think this is your best post yet. Well thought out, clear. Great job. I can vouch for all of what JDV is saying regarding T. Brown's asking him if he had a company to promote and JDV saying 'nope,' as well as the ex at the WWL and the negotiations to have JDV on a WWL show. All true, and I have firsthand knowledge of all of this and/or was present while it occurred. I am good friends with the ex to this day as well.

JDV - A good, calm, considered post. Stick with this style.

Also, I said in an earlier thread that 'this (JDV's posting here) wasn't my idea.' That is unclear, so let me correct that, for JDV's benefit. I told JDV about this board (sj), and said if he wanted to say something about Mark, this was a good place to do it. That is true. I didn't say he had to do it, but I did say it was an option. Hope that clarifies things.

This particular person joining the "whatever" brigade is making me giggle in a good way.

I can't find the post now, but JDV asking Idiotsnetwork to send him a PM of the list of credible journalists on the anonymous message board made me laugh. I don't think he'll ever realize he's listening to the least credible source on this website.

Also, JDV, a google search and news search reveals nothing for you except your you tube site and this thread. Can you explain why your clients wouldn't be pimping you if you had helped them so much? Also, why is there no mention of you anywhere else? If you're so amazing, wouldn't there be mention of you SOMEWHERE on the 'net?

    Uh let's see Ragu:

1.) Couldn't re-post the part of my post where I said it was possible that Stark came up with it on his own & that would be even better if he did as those arguments mimic my own (regardless of how they were derived) & shows people are learning about this subject.

2.) All your bs "drama" and "jokes" aside let's review the facts/logic here to support my analysis:

a.) Everyone knows that this is the #1 Sport's J message board (to my knowledge)

b.) Every knows ESPN people read this message board a LOT

c.) This has been the HOTTEST thread(s) on the board for the last four days (this thread alone is over what? 6300 views in two days!!!). Nobody saw that - lol!!

Why don't you ask Angola about that kind of logic - with that many views you sure can't prove he or his staff, etc DIDN'T read this thread without asking them.

d.) The HOF vote is announced tomorrow & this is directly relevant to that - in a sport HE COVERS!!

e.) I have no idea when Stark voted, etc, etc. but I know his column was released today.

Thus, its is VERY logical and PLAUSIBLE that he or someone he knows read things I said &/or watched my videos and gotten some good ideas for that column.

Add to this the "Black Mark" "coincidence" (which is detailed in my 2nd video) that appeared in my comments here and then appeared in their website later after that (and is still up there now) & the evidence starts stacking up.

PARTICULARLY, as described, when due to my history (professional and personal) that ESPN ALREADY KNEW I WAS LEGIT & didn't need to spend days arguing with, trashing me, and having me "prove" my credibility.

Nope if they did look at my stuff and use it they just did their jobs and pimped it NATIONAL while you were wasting time with snarky replies and funny pics & screwing yourself!

    Come on that is obvious.

& you know what I am glad they did!!!

That is EXACTLY WHY I CAME AND POSTED HERE to get some good info and perspective out. If I had to take some insults and fight a few battles along the way I say MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

Again, GREAT JOB JAYSON & ESPN!!

THE HALL OF FAME VOTE IS NOT TOMORROW!

John, if you can't get that major detail right, how are we to take anything else you say seriously?

This isn't just your most ridiculous post yet, which is truly saying something, it is disgraceful. Somebody makes an argument that has some similar points to yours and you claim it as your influence? And I am positive you didn't actually speak to Jayson Stark because you would have mentioned it if you had.

Stark knows a hell of a lot more about baseball and reporting than you ever will. This is what we are talking about when it comes to a lack of credibility and what I mean when I question your integrity. Either you are intentionally trying to use the name of a respected journalist to raise your own level or you are simply so clueless about journalism that you don't realize how out of line you are claiming his work is influenced by your meandering, bullshit posts on a message board.

I don't know weight training like you do. No doubt about that. But I know a hell of a lot more about journalism than you, as do most of the people posting in this board, and I know bullshit when I see it. And you, JDV, are generating tremendous amounts of bullshit.

And yes, I saw your mountain of evidence, never mind that people have been using "Black Mark" in columns about McGwire since long before you ever posted a thing. You may have real credentials in weight training and even the law, but as a journalistic source, you are a self-promoting fraud because you are willing to take credit for the words of others.

    John:

Jayson didn't "use" your stuff. His column has nothing to do with you or McGwire's training or anything you have any "expertise" on. His column is about how he feels about not indicting all players of McGwire's era. It's not about you, and it does not establish your credibility.

ESPN did not "use" your stuff. You do not hold intellectual copyright of the phrase "Black Mark". It is pure coincidence that you used that phrase and that it appeared on ESPN.com around the same time. That is not "evidence" of your credibility/discredibility. It means nothing.

Furthermore, Jayson's HOF vote had to be in before Dec. 31. He could not have seen your videos before voting for McGwire because it is a logistical impossibility. He could not have seen your Web site because it is not up yet (you have said so yourself). Unless you would like to claim otherwise, he did not talk to you about his vote nor did he take your as-then-unpublished opinions about McGwire into account.

Jayson's HOF vote column, which he writes every year around this time, has nothing to do with you. Stop taking credit for his work, and sullying his good name.
