Yeah, I was expecting the thinly veiled, snarky references that were a staple at my old shop.

I wonder if they didn't want to be together for years, but were waiting for the kid to be of a certain age, like maybe senior in h.s., for example.

    I'd hit it.

Hey, somebody had to say it.

The kid's not 17 yet ... and he's old enough to handle it ... but why put him in the public eye as a pawn of the divorce? Just saying.

17 or 18, it still sucks...but where's he being used as a pawn? The story says there are no custody issues, and he's living with his mom.

Wasn't he already doing as such, which led to the annual Tenn/UConn regular season matchup being called off?

Why are we talking about the kid in the first place?

Because they tend to suffer as much as the divorcing partners. Sometimes moreso.

Tyler's been in the public eye long enough that he'll probably be fine. At least he was 17 ... it would have been much tougher to deal with a decade ago. Speaking from experience ...

I don't believe staying together for the kids is necessarily better for any party, regardless of the age.

I really don't get why anybody is complaining about her getting divorced now instead of when the kid is in college. Their son is not "out of the picture" just because he has turned 18. The argument is just silly.

Even at 17, he is most likely mature enough to handle this and may even see it as a relief if things were particularly bad between his parents.

I know from experience. I was 16 when my parents got divorced. And look how I turned out.....oh wait...shit....that poor kid!
