PaulO goes yard again

    I think newspapers have gone the way of Winona Ryder.

    Initially, if you were the first or second or even third musician she had a thing with, you thought, "Heh, heh, pretty cool. I'm `dating' Winona Ryder."

    Now that you're the 14th or 37th musician who has taken his turn, dude, it's time for pride to kick in.

    I feel that way about newspapers. Once upon a time, we were lucky to work for them. Now, they're lucky to have us -- and we really ought to think more highly of ourselves and GO!

    I think it is fair to say that the print carrot is gone, but I'd like to think that it has been more replaced.
    Instead of striving for a better beat at the paper, or at another paper, it is let me get experience in this field and see if it can translate into a PR or marketing or some other kind of better paying gig.
    That may have always been true to some degree, I guess, maybe I just notice it more now.
