Don't forget "Given to Fly" = "Going to California"

I, too, celebrate their entire catalog, though "Vs." and "Riot Act" are standouts for me.

You're reaching. I do, though, think Yield is the best Christian rock album ever. Now I may be reaching.

Along those lines, don't forget how "Glorified G" = Hendrix' "Crosstown Traffic."

I'm getting back into Pearl Jam after falling out of fandom with the third album. to me, those first two albums are as good a 1-2 punch as any modern band has ever recorded. "Vs" might be a desert island disc.

Edit: Plain old, I've heard others say the same thing about Yield.

The opening riff to "Pretty Vacant" by the Sex Pistols = the opening riff to "Rearviewmirror"
Every Neil Young and Crazy Horse garage rocker = "Smile"
"Little Wing" by Jimi Hendrix = "Yellow Ledbetter"

The cool thing is that Pearl Jam have always worn their influences on their sleeves and never shied away from giving shout-outs to the bands they liked. Those moves always seemed a lot less like theft and a lot more like tributes.

Does anybody remember Adam Sandler as Opera Man's crush on Eddie Vedder... (straight off a Web site)

[Image of musical guest Pearl Jam -- instead of another aria, Operaman's next item is an operatic parody of Pearl Jam's song "Evenflow"]

    Eeyo zama dama dingy dong
    Operaman's a big Pearl Jam fan-o
[image of Pearl Jam lead singer Eddie Vedder]
Whoa deeyo zaya moya ding doo
    Eddie Vedder's even better
    Looking in person-o
    Eeyo zama dama ding dong
    I wish he didn't have a girlfriend-o
    Oh, no-a!
Eeyo I'm not saying I'm gay I'm just saying there comes a time in every man's life when he questions his own sexuality!...
    Oh no!

Ah, they played that one a little too much on the radio for my taste. Same thing with Alive.

    Too melodramatic.

You can get their new single for free at https://bootlegs.pearljam.com

It's pretty good. The site is the band's official site where you can download entire shows for like $10. It's got lots of other crap on there like every song they're ever played, how many times they've played it and where they played it at.
