Pearl Jam

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by Columbo, Mar 16, 2006.

  1. I'd actually start by buying any of the band's live releases. There are a ton of them. You'll hear all their stuff and lots of great covers - Neil Young's Rockin In The Free World and Fuckin Up, which the band does better than him; the Ramones' I Believe in Miracles; Dead Kennedys' Bleed For Me; Who's Baba O'Riley and CCR's Fortunate Son, etc, etc. From there, I'd start buying their studio releases in chronological order. In my opinion and in the opinion of many maniacal PJ fans, Vitalogy, Yield and No Code are their best albums, followed by the sentimental favorites Ten and Vs., then Riot Act, and Binaural last.

  4. Pearl Jam's official Ten club site went through a redesign and it'll soon offer downloads of shows dating back to 1991, as I understand it. Go to pearljam.com. In fact, if you pre-order their May 9 release at the site for like 9.99, you also get a free cd of a New Year's 1991 show, I think it. It's like $15.50 total with the $5 shipping charge, etc.

Also, the easiest-to-read and one of the most comprehensive setlist/song stats I've seen on the band is at pjvault.com.

for anyone looking for boots, this is a good site to start with. they are all mp3s and there are a lot of quality shows on there: unplugged, springfield ma 94, the ten rough mixes, msg 9-11-98, etc.

that new album/91 new year's boot deal through the 10c is a great deal, obviously. but it's even better they are giving out a real early boot. i don't have any from 91 and only unplugged for 92.

Dude, I am NOT clicking on that site. Anything to do with Boots is probably NSFW.

did anyone else get tickets? i got mine and when i clicked on seating chart, up came a diagram with a center stage layout. can anyone confirm that the band is doing center stage instead of the traditional end stage for this tour? TIA.

    Don't bother. They stink.

I got tickets to one of the shows, too. A show in the center would definitely be interesting.
