Welcome to the party Kansas City.

NHL doesn't want to move the Penguins but they might have to.

No, and here is why: with the Pens out, there's a void in the Atlantic division, which can easily be filled by the Capitals. Shift Nashville to the Southeast where it belongs, and keep Columbus and the KC Penguins-until-they-decide-on-a-more-appropriate-nickname in the Central.

Why not move Columbus to the Atlantic?

If it's KC -- and I hope not because I want the Pens to stay put -- it makes too much sense to shift them out West, where they would be natural rivals with St. Louis and really a perfect fit for the Central Division. Nashville to the Southeast, Caps to the Atlantic.

They should move that team into the Atlantic.

Because DC is several hundred miles closer to Philly and the NY/New Jersey metro area?

Kansas City Kids is what they'll be with Crosby in charge, but more likely, the KC Scouts are reborn!

Nah, the Pittsburgh Penguins sounds better than anything else. They won't go anywhere. [/In denial]

This reminds me of when the Nordiques moved to Colorado and the first year there the Avs won the Stanley cup with a crop of kids named Sakic, Forsberg and one other stud who was huge for them for so many years.

I'm actually for Pittsburgh staying put if it's possible. If not, bring them here. We got everything they need and we could use a winner around here. Playoff wins in my lifetime between Royals and Chiefs: Three.

Screw Kansas City. Southern Ontario should get a second team before any other place on the frigging continent gets one.
