    Nope.

Bottom line is Paterno knew, and nothing happened. The guy does everything his way, and NOW he's going to follow what some suit tells him to? Give me a break.

    That's what I don't get.

They didn't report it, then they perjured themselves, and the University President goes on the record supporting them?

I didn't -- and probably won't -- read the grand jury report. The New York Times article was enough for me.

Paterno had a moral obligation to call the cops -- 9 years ago. They allowed a predator to remain free for 9 more years.

Interesting Tweet from local sports writer Dave Ruden who spoke to current PS LB home watching his old HS play:

    DaveRuden Dave Ruden
#ctfb Khairi Fortt here. Said he's not surprised by news out of Penn State.

Clearly there must have been some buzz down in State College prior to this.

Have always loved Penn State program and the way Paterno did things. This really saddens me. Never really understood why Sandusky
retired. Now it seems clear. Paterno had to know and perhaps this is why Sandusky quietly retired.

All said, it's time for Joe to go- now. Linebacker U has now morphed into Child Molest U.

Good luck on the recruiting trail this year.

This wasn't sexual harassment. It was the rape/abuse of a young child by a predatory older man.

And, Joe Paterno isn't some first year kindergarten teacher afraid for her job who needs to go through proper channels in order to protect herself.

Paterno was told of a fist person, eyewitness account of abuse. If he had killed the bastard I would applaud him.

Going to his "boss" is not nearly enough in this situation. Paterno is the boss.

And, I'm sure, given his stature and tenure, Joe knows every law enforcement official in a 50 mile radius. He probably has the Chief of Police's home phone number. And, I'm guessing he has State Police security on game days, right?

Reports indicate that Joe will be a prosecution witness.

Counting the minutes until some of Sandusky's former players show up with allegations.

I doubt that happens. He'd have gotten his ass kicked. Maybe ball boys. But not players.

He's a predator. His prey was young, vulnerable, boys. And he created a charity to provide himself with a steady stream of victims.

Some 6'4" linebacker would have knocked his block off.

Wrong age group, SOB likes twelve to fourteen year olds. Interesting to see if all victims were minorities.

Some of the questions Paterno needs to answer, in a press conference or elsewhere:

—was Sandusky's retirement in 1999, at age 55, in any way related to knowledge of Sandusky's behavior by the university
—was Paterno involved in the decision that after the 2002 incident that he reported to Curley, the appropriate action was to take away Sandusky's office and not go to the police
—after having said a thousand times in many different forums that Paterno viewed his job about being more than winning football games but the molding of young men, in this instance were he and the university more concerned about protecting the image of the program he had built than the young boys that Sandusky might prey upon in the future?

    for starters

Time will tell. Know it's a bit out of Sandusky's market in terms of age but 17 / 18 year old recruits might not have been.

Kids are pretty perceptive at that age. I'm sure now that's it's out there more will come forward with their suspicions of Sandusky.

I'd also think it was because the story broke on a Saturday. With all the games, especially LSU/Alabama, it doesn't make as much traction.

Reading the grand jury report, I couldn't get through Victim 2 before stopping. As a father, I'm sickened by it.
