Oh, and the GA wasn't some nobody that Paterno didn't know and/or trust:

Their testimony of what happened in 2002 -- when now-assistant coach Mike McQueary said he witnessed Sandusky in a sex act with a boy in a shower -- contradicts that of Paterno and McQueary.

In the presentment, jurors wrote that McQueary -- identified in the presentment only as a 28-year-old graduate assistant -- was credible but Schultz and Curley were not.

Several sources have identified that witness as McQueary.

McQueary recalled the incident taking place the evening of March 1, 2002, when he went into the locker room to put away sneakers and get recruiting tapes. McQueary said he saw Sandusky standing behind a boy about 10 years old, performing a sex act in the shower.

Paterno didn't see it. A grad-assitant did.

Why didn't the GA go to the cops? Huh? He witnessed it first-hand and did nothing? WTF?
Where is the outrage there ... Isn't that almost as bad as David Cash, the Bad Samaritan?
Again, Paterno's info was second-hand.. The grad-assistant - in his mid-20's - failed to directly intervene?

I don't think calling this guy merely "a grad assistant" quite paints the full picture. This particular GA isn't some glorified gofer who merely picked up JoePa's courtesy car from the body shop -- if Pennlive.com's anonymous sources are correct, this GA was Mike McQueary, a guy Paterno knows well enough and trusted enough to be his starting quarterback for a couple years in the 1990s and someone who reportedly was on the short list to replace Paterno.

Again, this isn't some stranger off the street that JoePa hired to fetch his coffee. So if McQueary told JoePa that a felony was taking place in the shower, it definitely is on Paterno to take it exceptionally seriously and involve the authorities himself.

Can we please stop talking about Joe Paterno having "bosses?" That's so fucking laughable its insane. The man has a fucking library, ice cream and lifesize cardboard cutout in his honor. Joe is the boss of Penn State and has been for 40 years. Spanier and Curley are nothing but puppets. Always have been. In 2004, Curley and Spanier walked to Joe's house and begged him to retire. Joe told 'em to get fucked. They left. You tell me who runs things.

I have a problem taking McQueary to the woodshed here, if indeed it was him. He was a first- or second-year grad assistant seeing what was stunning -- one of the men he's respected for many years buggering a little kid.

I'm sure he's wrestling with this in his conscience daily far beyond any beating here someone will foist on him.

Bingo.

If Paterno wanted justice to be done, he, above anyone else in that state -- law enforcement officials included -- could have made sure it was. He was worried aboout his legacy, which if there is any justice in this world, will be forever tarnished by his nonaction. "Jerry Sandusky" should be in the first paragraph of every Joe Paterno obit ever written.
