Where was JoePa to say this to the kid?

You guys know the kid had a father right? Not named Joe Paterno... The father and McQueary went to PSU administrors. Also not named Joe Paterno.

PM when you come back from Neverland. I'll buy you a beer.

They coached football together. I can beleive Paterno had no idea Sandusky was a pedophile. Look at the BTK killer, his wife and family had NO clue. This shit happens all the time and people say they are shocked.
People can be good hiding their evil.

    Sorry, Evil.

You're deeply in the wrong here.

"The next morning, a Saturday, the graduate assistant telephoned Paterno and went to Paterno's home, where he reported what he had seen.
Joseph V. Paterno testified to receiving the graduate assistant's report at his home on a Saturday morning. Paterno testified that the graduate assistant was very upset. Paterno called Tim Curley, Penn State Athletic Director and Paterno's immediate supervisor to his home the very next day, a Sunday, and reported to him that the graduate assistant had seen Jerry Sandusky in the Lasch Building showers fondeling or doing something of a sexual nature to a young boy."

Was Joe's phone not capable of making outgoing calls on that Saturday morning?

    McQueary waits a day.

    Paterno waits a day.

    WTF?

    911 folks.

Things Joe Paterno did not do when informed one of his former assistants was assraping a 10-year-old in the showers: Call the cops.

    This.

Do you think for one second that if McQueary was a Penn State player that Paterno wouldn't have gone to the cops? Please. He should be ashamed and unemployed.

You simply cannot excoriate the GA on the one hand and then defend Paterno on the other. There's really no basis for different levels of culpability here. None.

Do you think Paterno ever wondered why neither the kid's dad nor McQueary called police?
Instead dad told McQueary to go to Paterno?
If you are Paterno the fact the cops weren't already involved doesn't raise a red flag here? Why wouldn't they have already summoned law enfrocement?
You take the accusation seriously? Hell Yes. But call the police - again on second-hand info - that may or may not be credible?

Where do you guys work? Have you ever dealt with legal/crime reporting?

Just had a chance to read the Grand Jury report. As a new parent, I was shaking with anger.

I know people have blinders on when it comes to their favourite teams, but, I don't understand how anyone with a child could cheer for Penn State right now. Even if I was a season-ticket holder, I couldn't imagine going to a game and rooting for the Lions, knowing Paterno, standing right there, had the power to do something about this.

As a broadcaster, I'm trying to imagine working a Penn State game and being able to function. Every time I'd see Paterno, or look at the stadium, or whatever, I'd be thinking about what happened. I'd want to rip apart the school every time my mic was hot.

I remember covering a similar scandal at Maple Leaf Gardens. I knew a couple of those ushers who committed similar crimes. It made me so sick. It goes away, eventually, if you're not directly affected. When MLG closed to hockey, most of the tributes were lavish. Eventually, that will happen to PSU. But, right now, I can't understand how you could look (or talk) to Paterno, and not feel absolute disgust for the guy.

He shouldn't be allowed to coach. And, I know it will never happen, but the team should cancel the remainder of its schedule.

Dude traveling to games with a kid and bringing him to meals with the coaches should have raised warning flags.
