    Thank you, Mr. Meggyesy. ;)

    (P.S. I don't disagree with you.)

The problem isn't the questioning, it's your conclusion.

You seem to think that if you can muddy the waters enough, you can validate your conclusion that we don't know enough to condemn Paterno.

But it's ridiculous, because even within the wriggle room where you are desperately trying to dance, there's enough to condemn Paterno. The undisputed facts of the case have him ignoring a child rapist bringing children into his facility, or doing nothing when one of his employees falsely accused another of child rape. One or the other has to be true.

    The mob. That's rich.

You've actually done a wonderful job pointing out the 6,000 different ways we've wronged McQ and Paterno. Carry on.

If only Sandusky had been armed with a knife instead of his dick.

I AM going to read it, Azrael, but I'll say right now, it's a close cousin to the "what if it were your kid?" strategy.

It is the CRUX of the issue. That complex, and the worship that enabled it, is the psychological explanation for why so many people did so little when faced with a black-and-white moral and ethical decision.

Gotta' better reaction to a former player rallying support (and money) for Sandusky? Yes, Jerry's the fucking victim here. And if you read the article Stelladora or whatever the fuck his name is is butthurt (pun intended) because of the damage done to the reputation of Paterno and the football program? I'd say "grow up," but given the guy's 73, I don't see that happening.

Actually, in one of my ideas of the facts, Paterno does follow up. But he's told that the investigation found McQueary to be mistaken in what he saw. Depending on how much McQueary did or didn't tell Paterno, that may have been enough. If Paterno asks McQueary about it, maybe he lied and said he was mistaken. Maybe McQueary was pressured or promised a better job to lie about it. Sandusky is asked to not bring children on campus because they're worried, even if they can't do more.

My other idea of the facts is similar, except it is Paterno who directs McQueary to shut up about it instead of Curley/Schultz.

Agreed. I know we're in full blown piling on mode here, but you can hardly blame Second Mile for deciding to remove the picture of pre-pubescent boys from their website. They'd be facing a holy shitstorm of public criticism right now if they hadn't replaced it.

While you're probably right, replacing the original photo of one with smiling, little white girls also gives the wrong impression.

I wouldn't be surprised if their new photo is a stock photo they purchased.
