I've never said one thing in support of McQueary. To walk away from that is criminal. Even if there's initial shock, after he's had a nice talk with his dad he should be recovered enough to do the right thing. His dad's a piece of work too. Both could have done something about an attack in progress.

If I'm them I take ALL photos of children down until any investigations are finished and they're certain none of these pictures contain victims.

I just hope Paterno didn't invite both McQueary and Sandusky over for Sunday dinner at the same time. That would have been an awkward situation.

All a matter of degree. I find the outlook of you to be more believable -- short of there being more, uglier things down the line. That, I don't buy.

I also find some of what TeamBud is saying to be quite credible.

    I think you're right.

You were criticized when you compared it to "war" and the military, but as Rick pointed out, while the stakes are much less, that is how the participants view it.

These organizations are set up like paramilitary organizations.

You see the same desire to "handle things in house" in police departments and other groups too.

It's not right, but it's not wrong to point it out.

Breaking up that structure should be part of the goal.

These kids should be "student-athletes". Football shouldn't be their "job".

And the football coach shouldn't be the top guy on campus.

    But, for now, they are.

That was a good link, Azrael. It was well-written, as a Jane Leavy piece would be.

    See, I'd agree with that.

But don't try to change the nature of your program with a misleading picture.

Misleading is exactly what I'd term it.

I certainly wouldn't suggest that they had grabbed a picture out of a dime-store frame and stuck it on their website.

Actually, the undisputed facts of the case have him preventing an accused child molester from bringing children into his facility but still allowing him on campus, or doing nothing when one of his employees mistakenly accuses another of child molestation.

The rest are things you've made up and then turned into "undisputed facts" in your mind.

Why would the Second Mile have a picture of some 20-something brunette from the 1980s with her head cocked to the side on their site?

Even this week, telling the board that "I'm good, don't worry about me, I'll mosey on out after the season" reeked of the employee telling the bosses when he wants to leave.
