The culture of deception and cover-up continues.

Shotty - I respect the way you have handled yourself on this thread. But some of us find the playing of this game and the accompanying ceremonies to be unseemly and absurd, to an extent. It's really not about who is standing at the top of the moral ladder. It's about the stability of the ladder in the first place. The foundation. And that has been crippled. Devastated. Distorted. For the first time all week, I understand why some posters have called for an early end to the football season. Will lessons be learned? Will players and students really understand the gravity of the situation if the program continues this year? I don't know. But I feel sick watching this, and I'm turning off the game, and I am literally getting into a bath. Again, I am not waving my morality flag, I am simply describing how watching this game makes me feel.

And one more thing -- The more that emerges about this story, the worse it gets. There
may come a time when the school regrets the decision to continue the season. In fact, I have a feeling that might very well end up being the case.

    Of course you do.

    But I ask, "for who?"

May I suggest that you log off, enjoy your game, and not be bothered by the multitude of people here who do not share your strong opinions?

Said Sandusky to Paterno in the meeting before they agreed on his "retirement."

If a reasonable discussion of the biggest sports story of the decade bothers you on a message board for sports journalists, maybe you should log off.

Tweet by Chicago Tribune's David Haugh:

"Atmosphere outside stadium overwhelmingly pro-Paterno. T-shirts, signs, chants. Mixed in were some dissenters but swallowed in sea of JoePa."

    Let the healing begin!
