If you want quick return to normalcy you better be
    rooting for Nebraska today.

A Penn St win puts them closer to Pasadena and the circus continues.
I don't think anyone wants to see the seniors head over to Joe's house with the game ball outside of ESPN.

Too bad Nebraska isn't kicking Pedophile State's ass the way Okie State is doing to Tex Tech, but whatever.

Doesn't anybody think a compelling reason for not playing this game is that it's basically a nationally televised middle finger to the victims?

Far too easy for people to blame this on McQueary or Paterno or Spanier, and thus absolve the entire pervasive culture of Pedophile State football that made the whole Sandusky cover-up possible in the first place.

The fact that so many of the 106,000 in attendance have demonstrated that they think Paterno -- and by extension, their beloved football prgoram -- is one of the victims in this case, is all the evidence I need to know that they don't understand how fucked-up their priorities really are.

Has anybody stopped to think about how Sandusky's victims are feeling today, what with all the signs of support for Paterno and the obvious fan support of the institution that failed them so spectacularly?

    A moment of silence?

Par for the course, I guess, if your university's motto is "Do the bare minimum to help child rape victims."

    Fuck this shit.

If anyone is calling for Penn State to shut down football to show football isn't king, and these same people watch college football this weekend, they're hypocrites.

For the first time in my life, I'm rooting for Corn.

Hokie, if that's your opinion, then it should also be your opinion that every game played for however many years was a middle finger at the victims, too.

I disagree. I will also watch "Tree of Life" later today. I don't think Brad Pitt and Sean Penn are king, either. Football - or movies, or books, or television, or anything else - is just fine as entertainment, so long as it is placed in the proper perspective.

    Just re-read your post, Wicked.

And yeah, now that I think about it, I guess it was.

But this is especially obscene, what with 106,000 fans chanting "JoePa" even after he's been revealed as nothing better than an enabler for a child rapist in his own backyard.

All signs point to the Penn State scandal getting bigger before all is said and done. At that point, shutting down the program will look minor by comparison.
