If it did hit the rumor mill, I doubt there is a writer within 60 miles who would have followed up on it with any gusto.

Maybe JoPa was protecting Sandusky because Sandusky had some more dirt that JoePa ....

    Oh, I can't do it.

I can think it, but I can't write it.

This sure recasts the 1986 Fiesta Bowl's "good vs. evil" storyline, doesn't it?

People who will give JoePa a rousing ovation will merely confirm their belief that:

PSU Football wins >> the lives of little 10 yr. old boys.

What a sad commentary on our society.

    Well-said.

And more proof that, most of the time, it's probably just degrees of evil vs. degrees of evil.

There just has to be more to this story. The repeated looking-the-other-way, combined with the current access to the facility that Sandusky had until just last week, really makes one wonder.

This. No one is ever cheering for the university president. Get a clue.

That makes no sense. Anyone who aligns themselves in any way with Penn State should feel a little dirty right now.

I'm sure this has been covered in 17 pages of comments, but as soon I saw that he has six adopted kids I immediately wondered what they have been through.

Curious as to everyone's opinion on the actions of the then-28-year-old GA who reported it to Paterno. I have my own opinion, but do you guys think he could/should have done more?

Nope. They'd get thrown of the team and lose their scholarships, unless the entire team did it. And somehow, I don't think the players would really feel that intense about it. It's not like Sandusky was a current assistant. He quit when these guys were in elementary school.

Maybe he could, or maybe he thought he was doing what he was supposed to do. Maybe in Penn State culture, they tell their people to keep outsiders (including the police) out of any issues that crop up.
